    INI++ New Group Issue

    This is really frustrating, the "Set current group to" action does not work, AT ALL.

    Why is this happening? I tried to update my INI++, making a new app, even closing Fusion.
    None of the above done anything

    I'm really annoyed by the fact that INI++'s main function does not work anymore. I created the GameJolt API with that object and the fact that it has to be rewritten from scratch is heart breaking. I was also going to make another project with this object but apparently that's not going to happen any time soon.

    Hi BartekB,

    shouldn't you set at least one item in this group to make it pop out in the dialog box?

    (set group should only set index to this group, but not "create" it)

    Right then, I was pretty confused as I did not know how that worked.
    In addition "Group exists" also ignores empty groups it seems.

    Well, that saved me from burning my laptop down, heh.

    Hi BartekB,

    Ini++ originally didn't support empty groups - when the last element of a group was deleted, the group just disappeared. This was most natural from the point of view of data storage, but if you opened and then immediately saved an Ini file through Ini++ you would lose structure. An updated added basic support for empty groups (the update allowed empty groups and preserved the order of groups and items. Comments are still lost though). However, I didn't change the basic behaviour and it was by design that the "Set current group" function doesn't actually create the group until an item is added, as Schrodinger rightly said.

    Hopefully you won't have to rewrite the GameJolt API then! Feel free to PM me if you feel you've found other problems though.
