    Looping music after intro sample

    In all music for my game, we have an intro and then a loop. When the loop starts after the intro finishes, there is a split second of silence.

    What is the best way to achieve a loop after intro without setting sample positions via event editor? I've found that to be incredibly unreliable, especially if the event to loop comes during a jump from one frame to another, it gets lost in the move.

    How are you doing it now? I have this twice in a current project and it works without a pause:

    Start of frame:
    -> Play sample 1 once

    If sample 1 is not playing:
    -> Play and loop sample 2

    This gives you a pause? Is the pause in the sample itself?

    That's exactly how I was doing it, but audio has been trimmed to where there are no pauses in the audio itself. I've tried the preloading option for sounds and that didn't seem to help.

    I haven't tried it so i'm just guessing here but how about using a timer to start the loop on a different channel before the intro ends? Maybe that could eliminate the gap

    I'm worried that may glitch up on certain pcs, but it may be the best option at this point.

    To get around this you can start both samples at the same time but pause the sample you plan to loop. Then resume it once the intro sample is done. This pause is due to the way mmf loads sound and unfortunately there is no way to preload sound files into memory. They are loaded when you play them.

    You can simply play the into part as a separate sound. and blend in the loop almost like DJ fades one song into the other seamless
    Try this amigo.

    Thanks Sparckman! That would be pretty jarring for the music that we have, but it may work for other things such as cutscenes.
