Question [Saving] How to save? and how to make subwindow?

Hey guys, and while making my game, I realized the importance of having a save/load mechanic. I searched for tutorials, and they said that I should use save frame position. Then someone said it was dangerous to use... How can i make a save/load function that can be accessed even though the application was closed then opened again? (Like in most games if you closed then opened it again then you load, it will load the last save file)... and also, how do you make that pop up window when you click something? (I typed this in a rush because my time is running out )

EDIT: Okay, I have figured out on how to make a "subwindow", just had to be creative (created lots of layers and actives, used the invisible/reappear function). What I still don't know is:

How to make a Save/Load Game Mechanic which persists even though the application was closed?

    Please enlighten me

-I've researched, and I found the save frame position, and someone said it's dangerous... (I'm telling this again for disambiguation)

It's been asked a million times by now I think haha. (I asked myself in the beginning when I had problems) Use the ini object! There is a great tutorial for it here
