    Problems with objects moving a long distance

    Hello, forgive me if I sound a little noobish, this is my first time using these forums. I am making a game and several times I've had this one problem. Forgive me here because I'm using fairly simplistic events for the most part, so this may sound silly to those more familiar with the engine (this is the first time I've made a game of any capacity).
    When I am making an object that is created to move a very long distance, in some cases the movement will only happen when the object can already be seen onscreen anyways.
    I'll give an example:

    Here, i have set that laser to the right to launch out of each of those boxes every 3 seconds and head left all the way back to the beginning of the stage.
    However, when I run the frame for testing, there is no sign of the lasers until the player gets very close to the boxes anyway.
    This shot is taken from the beginning of the stage (the square is the character):

    This is taken about 6 seconds after the frame starts running, but no sign of lasers.
    However, if I guide the character to the end of the stage:

    They appear just fine.
    Does anyone have any information on why this may happen or suggest others ways of achieving this type of movement. I will provide any more information needed.

    is the destroy object if to far from frame ticked off?

    In the object properties. Make sure that "inactive if too far from frame" is set to NO. Same with "destroy object if too far from frame".
