Some graphics showing up as white on Galaxy Tablet but okay on Nexus 5x?

If images appear as white does this mean it's out of memory?

I tested it for transparency but this didn't help.

Perhaps there's a limit on memory on some devices that means larger images don't display correctly?

could be, yes (unless you are not pointing correctly, using android object folder information)
it should work for both type with transparent and non transparent.
yes every device have his own limit more related to android version.

check with an image with 256x256 image to see is visible in both devices. (it should be)

Ah okay thanks. So if I want a larger graphic is it best that I make it up from 256*256 tiles for maximum Android compatibility?

yes 256 x 256 are ok, I saw in the past also 128 x128 and they are ok too.
