    Psychedelic graphic effects in Fusion?

I have got the basic hang of sprites, movement, basic game logic... but I am wondering, how would I go about creating 'psychedelic' graphic effects? Things like colour cycling, flashing, glows, delay/trail effects... I mean the sort of graphics in games like Death Ray Manta: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcWoS-5bR64 Do you have to draw all of these by hand or program hundreds of sprites, or is there a shortcut to automating this stuff?

You will have to do some drawing. But you can use code to manipulate the colors easily, well, if you know how. I think this guy is somewhat of an expert on the matter:

He also shares one way he's doing one of the effects atleast what I read, maybe there's more!

What Platform are you developing for?

If Windows, Shaders on the whole stage frame are likely to be the best way to achieve the sort of ghosting/trail effects. Conversely, shaders on individual objects can be good for making bullets 'pulse' or cycle colours.

Thanks guys, that cat game looks crazy! Shaders do sound good, and I am developing on WIndows. Is there a guide for using shaders with Fusion? I have searched here but didn't know where to begin. Thanks!

Actually, ther is a coupple ( maybe more..? ) 'bugs' i know of that create smashing visual effects.
I wouldnt ( and for some you cant ) rely on using them consistently ( as they might get fixed, or only work in specific runtimes ) durring runtime.
The ones im talking about are best used to 'create' phycadelic 'graphics'.

Allthough playing around with particles in combination with math and ink effects/ alpha chanells sounds like loads and loads of fun
I dont have a free hand at the moment, but i feel im getting drawn to this fun idea and might get down to it anyways
