    Demon Castle Medusa - Free Castlevania Inspired Arcade Game

    Hello!

    Over the last few days in between a massive rebuild of a long term project, I put this together. It's a simple arcade game that's very obviously inspired by classic Castlevania games in an arcade setting. Currently the game is in "Open Alpha", which means you need to click this link to join and download it. Uses a wonderful piece of music I found buried in the CTF 2.5 directory which fits the game extremely well. This was my first success with the GPG object, and as such, it has full Google Play Games integration, Achievements and Leaderboards (Tap the red controller on the title screen, this will turn Green if everything is successful). There's a few small things I've got to finish up before unleashing it, but it was nice to make something other than a top down shooter for a few days. There's a few graphics that don't quite line up, and some sounds are missing, and it needs just one more pass before release. I will probably make an in-app object of a guy in blue name "Richard".

    Becoming less of a Flappy Bird styled game, and a bit more of a somewhat procedurally generated game. The current goal is to get to 500m to clear a run. I'm considering adding in a currency system for some one time use powerups. Medusa's would drop the money, you have to grab it before they disappear. This would encourage the player to be a bit more aggressive. I'm also throwing around the idea of adding in a progression system, wherein you receive a new ability at the end of each stage that comes with you in each new game. Currently at 2.5 stages. In-App blue character "Richard" has been half implemented.

    Updated further. Definitely not flappy bird, but it still is a high score game. Graphics have been updated, bugs have been squashed, and it's tons better than it was just 3 days ago.screen2.pngscreen3.png
